One thing hard copy newspapers have over their younger, faster, slicker online siblings is a reliable archive. Once the news makes it to print, it is what it is. If there's a need to correct a story, a notice will appear in a later edition, but the original remains intact. Jimmy Wales, cofounder of Wikipedia, apparently does not see the need or value of preserving the record.
