Report: Sony's OLED TVs on hold
Sony shows off its OLED TVs at CES 2007. That's a 27-inch model in the middle; all the others are 11-inch models.
Nobody, least of all Sony, ever said it would be easy to start cranking out OLED TVs. It doesn't help matters to be in a financial crunch. So it should come as little surprise that losses in Sony's TV division are driving the electronics giant to put a hold on future OLEDs TVs. Read more

When I reviewed Panasonic's entry-level 2009 50-inch plasma TV back in April, the TC-P50X1, I mostly liked what I saw aside from one strange issue. The screen showed faint diagonal lines seemingly embedded in the screen. Fast-forward to late July, more than halfway through the product's lifespan, and it seems Panasonic has fixed the problem. That's all well and good, and Panasonic deserves credit for finally addressing the problem. But questions remain, and Panasonic has not been forthcoming. Read more

Woodstock: The good, the bad, and the ugly

I bought a ticket and was ready to go to Woodstock; however, my ride chickened out and I missed the seminal musical event of the 1960s. The thing is, over the course of those three days in August 1969, I, even a 20-year-old, was glad I missed it. Sure, three days of peace and music sounds nice, but Woodstock was an instant media legend. Granted, great bands were there by the helicopter load; but the sound, as best as I could tell, was awful for the crowd gathered.  Read more
