Today's Story Highlights
When the Lawyers Come Knocking: Info Management and E-Discovery
Today, the discussion is on gaining control over information sprawl at
enterprises. We'll take a look at the short-term and potentially massive
savings from thwarting legal discovery fulfillment problems in advance
by controlling information. And we'll examine how management life cycle
approaches can bring long-term payoffs through better analytics and
regulatory compliance.

Getting Small Firms on Board With BPM
The greatest obstacle small business operators face in adopting business
process management is themselves. That factor could account for the
underutilization of BPM by small businesses -- and the reason BPM
vendors have targeted the small business sector as a huge potential
market.

Court Nixes 30 Percent Cap on Cable Market Share - Again
An appeals court overturned a rule that said a cable TV company could
not serve more than 30 percent of the nation's subscribers. The verdict
Friday was a victory for the largest cable company, Comcast, which has
25 percent share and sued to block the rule. It was an embarrassing
decision for the Federal Communications Commission, which had already
seen the cap rejected and imposed it again.

Sussing Out the Wireless Playing Field
The FCC is taking a closer look at the practices of the wireless
industry, potentially the first step toward more regulations intended to
push down prices and increase choices for consumers. At its first
meeting with all five commissioners seated since the President Obama
took office, the FCC voted unanimously to open an inquiry into the state
of competition in the wireless industry.

Will the Microhoo Machine Clear Antitrust Regs?
Yahoo and Microsoft hope that by joining forces, they can tilt the
balance of power in Internet search away from Google. First, however,
Yahoo and Microsoft have to convince regulators that their plan won't
hurt online advertisers and consumers. As the U.S. Justice Department
reviews the proposed partnership, approval figures to hinge on one
question.

Intel's Stronger Outlook Fuels Tech-Sector Cheer
Intel has boosted its sales forecast for Q3, providing an injection of
confidence to the tech sector, where it's viewed as an industry
bellwether. Intel now expects revenue for the third quarter to be $9
billion, plus or minus $200 million, compared with the previous range of
$8.5 billion, plus or minus $400 million. Wall Street had been expecting
revenue to clock in at $8.6 billion.
