New Apple MacBooks demystified

What could be better than speed accelerations and other improvements across Apple's line of MacBooks? How about some tasty price cuts? That's right, Apple--long regarded as offering pricier notebooks than Windows-based competitors--has lowered prices fairly significantly on everything from the MacBook Air to the 17-inch Pro. We wouldn't say the notebooks are cheap, but in this economy, every little bit helps. CNET's laptop pro Dan Ackerman has all the details.

Senators Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) and Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) have recently introduced the "Mobile Wireless Tax Fairness Act" (S 1192), which promises to enact a five-year halt on new or increased taxes on wireless infrastructure and services.
