Increase your sales! Exclusive offer for Upload.com software publishers

TrialPay

Are you looking to do any of the following?

redarrow Convert free and trial users into paying customers
redarrow Upgrade basic users to premium product levels
redarrow Reduce shopping cart abandonment
redarrow Increase the effectiveness of e-mail campaigns

If you answered "yes" to any of these statements, click here to learn more about how TrialPay helps software publishers achieve these goals.

Here's how it works:

1. With TrialPay, users can get your software for free by sending flowers from FTD, engaging in a free trial with Netflix, buying clothes from Gap or choosing from other offers from popular advertisers.
2. The advertiser pays for your software and you increase sales from your current traffic.
3. And of course, this service is free to use and will complement your current e-commerce platform.
4. All you need to do, is start here: http://trialpay.com/cnet

And a bigger bonus -- TrialPay is providing an added incentive exclusively to you, our Upload.com publishers:

redarrow The first 50 publishers to start selling with TrialPay will receive a $100 Amazon.com Gift Card.
redarrow Plus, if you sell 75 units within 90 days of creating your account, you can earn a $1,000 bonus.

Not a bad way to kick off the summer!

Button Partners: Update your link & increase your downloads

Button PartnersIf you currently have a button partner link on your site, please make sure to update the URL to reflect CNET Downloads' new domain syntax.

Important: Check the first part of your existing link:

If you're using this: www.download.com

Change it to this: download.cnet.com

You can keep the rest of the code as is or you can also replace them by creating a new HTML code through your Upload.com account.

Note to the Software Publishers
from Peggy Yu

Senior Manager, ISV Development,
Upload.com

Seems everywhere we turn these days, people are talking about the slumping global economy - but we at Upload.com are doing our best to help our software publishers weather the impact.

Recognizing that a major concern for many of our Upload.com software publishers is increasing revenue in this less than desirable economy, we've made it one of our goals to help you increase sales. Do you have a paid version of your software? Do you want to increase conversion from free/trial users to paid users? If so, be sure to read further on in the newsletter about an exciting new opportunity being brought to Upload.com software publishers by our partner, TrialPay. And it's true -- the early bird catches the worm -- TrialPay is offering 2 bonus programs exclusively to Upload.com software publishers that will only be available for a limited time period. Want to get started now? Start here: http://trialpay.com/cnet

Thanks to everyone who responded to our Twitter survey. I thought I'd share one particularly insightful quote from Andrew Hedges, "...You should be on Twitter. But, you should do it in a way that gives users access to people and information that would be otherwise difficult to reach (or that feels that way, anyway). It's important for it to feel personal. Otherwise, you're going to be ignored. I take it as a good sign that you're asking questions before you jump in!" It's feedback like Andrews's that help ensure we develop and implement programs and services that really resonate with you, our software publishers.

Speaking of feedback, please take our survey below on the upcoming conferences - we'd love to know if you will be there.

Finally, we have one important piece of housekeeping. Read below to ensure you are maximizing the traffic you drive to Download.com.

Until next time,

Peggy

Upcoming conferences survey: We'd love to meet you!

As we plan for the second half of the year, we are gearing up to see which of these many conferences will draw the Upload.com community and we'll make every effort to meet you all there. Click here to answer two simple questions.

Twitter survey results

First of all, thank you so much for helping us better understand what is important for you and your business by responding to our survey. We all seem to agree that while social media is a great outlet for engaging the end users and generating new business, deliberate thought and careful consideration must be used to effectively utilize this tool. Therefore, it was very important for us to see the varying degree of likes and dislikes of Twitter across our Upload.com community. Here is what your fellow Upload.com publishers had to say about Twitter:

redarrow Over 50% of you wanted to hear most about new features and bug fixes.
redarrow While not every one of you had a company Twitter account, a lot of you had personal accounts with some others disliking the idea of micro-blogging completely, finding Twitter to be a "fad" that will pass in time.
redarrow 23% of you tweet a couple of times a month, 40% of you tweet at least once a week and 30% of you tweet at least 3 times per day.

Now, that's a lot of tweeting for some people, but if you leverage the power of social media the right way, it can do amazing things you never thought possible. Again, thanks for sharing!
