App Testing From the Comfort of the Cloud (23:25 minutes)
Organizations are starting to see that using a cloud approach to testing
can serve to better accommodate demand dynamics. There's even been a
shift in the actual approach to development. Instead of gathering up
bushels of code for one big build, developers are taking a more agile
tack, making more builds more often.

Today's Story Highlights

SesameVault Opens Online Video Channel for SMBs
It is rather challenging to hit a moving target when it keeps changing
directions. That's a bit like how Cameron Brain, CEO of Open Box
Technologies, felt when he set his sights on a particular business
market while still in college. In 2006, Brain and a group of classmates
at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y., started to dabble in
online sales and all things video on computers.

Event Madness: Apple's Fancy Footwork
Mac fans are waiting breathlessly for Wednesday's Apple event, when new
products may be introduced. The excitement has sent Apple's share prices
soaring -- at Tuesday's close, they were up $2.29 or 1.34 percent, to
$172.60. That could very well change Wednesday morning once people know
exactly what Apple's next move is.

Funny, Beautiful Symmetry
There is a lot of unspoken information in last week's announcements by
Sage and Salesforce.com about their respective contact managers. Each is
creating a disruptive innovation that affects the other, and the
symmetry of these dual and dueling announcements is frankly beautiful in
a funny way.

Wall Street Has High Hopes for TI's Mid-Quarter Update
Analysts expect good news from chip maker Texas Instruments Wednesday,
when the company is scheduled to give a mid-quarter financial update. An
upbeat report from TI, which makes chips for everything from cellphones
to automobiles, would be another good sign for an industry that was hard
hit by the recession earlier this year.

No End in Sight to Google Books Saga
Google has proposed modifying its proposed digital books deal with
publishers and authors in an effort to tamp down growing opposition to
the project. The changes would limit the number of out-of-print books it
places online. Industry groups were given a venue to complain about the
proposed agreement at a hearing sponsored by the European Commission on
Monday.
