Motorola's Cliq Joins Android Army

The latest Android handset to show its face in the U.S. market is Cliq, a Motorola smartphone that will also be sold overseas under the moniker "Dext." The handset includes Motorola's Motoblur service, which stitches together notifications, messages and updates posted by the user's contacts on social media sites, email, text messages, etc. Expect Cliq to hit in the fourth quarter of this year.

It's happening again: Google is reaching out and taking over the world. OK, maybe not quite, but Google Android adoption is spreading, with Motorola debuting on Thursday its first device, the Cliq. The phone runs Android 1.5 Cupcake and offer access to Google's various services, including Google Maps with Street View, Google Voice Search, Picasa, and Google Talk, all packaged in Motorola's new Motoblur UI.
