Andreessen Sinks Gold Into Tech VC Gambit

Tech entrepreneur Marc Andreessen and business partner Ben Horowitz are getting into the venture capital game. They will launch Andreessen Horowitz with $300 million in funds to shell out to promising tech companies. Andreessen has spelled out a few of the new firm's philosophies, including a stated reluctance to install himself or Horowitz on the boards of raw startups.
